Andrew Dicks

Qualifications: B.Sc.(Hons), D.I.S, Ph.D., Loughborough University (UK), C.Chem, F.R.S.C., F.A.I.E., A.R.C.O.

Andrew's principal interests are energy systems that integrate different technologies, particularly those employing natural gases, biogases, and other renewable energy sources. He is known internationally for his work on fuel processing, fuel cell systems, and hydrogen energy.

Andrew brings to LC Energy experience of working as Principal Research Scientist in an industrial R&D environment (BG in the UK) and as an academic research fellow at the University of Queensland. He is best known for his work on fuel cell systems, having collaborated and consulted with many of the leading developers throughout the world. From 2006-9, Andrew was Director of the CSIRO National Hydrogen Materials Alliance.

Since joining LC Energy, Andrew has continued his interests in fuel cell systems: he has consulted with the Queensland University of Technology in a collaboration with the National Physical Laborator in New Delhi, and has been involved in several other fuel cell projects in Australia. These include the renewable energy system for the Sir Samuel Griffith Centre, a 6-star grid-independent building at Griffith University that features PV arrays, hydrogen generation by electrolysis hydrogen storage as hydride, and power generation using PEM fuel cell systems.

Andrew has published widely in the energy field and is preparing the 3rd edition of the textbook, "Fuel Cell Systems Explained," to be published by Wiley in 2016. He is currently Chairman of the Brisbane branch of the Australian Institute of Energy, and President of the Australian Association for Hydrogen Energy.
